“My passion for barbering began in 2009 in the Overvecht district of Utrecht. I am self-made and learned everything on my own. In 2012, I made the decision to move to the center of Utrecht because I knew my future held greater potential there. This move would help us reach a broader audience and expand our brand.
In the heart of Utrecht, I not only flourished as a barber but also as a driven entrepreneur. I started training people, some of whom eventually joined my team. In 2016, I even started an academy but soon decided to stop with it. I wanted to build my own empire together with my team. I no longer found joy in training individuals solely motivated by money rather than a passion for the craft.
In 2019, I joined forces with my wife, Lindsey Bennett-Hoesen, and Michel Vorm. Together, we embarked on the journey of MAESONS, The Ultimate Men-Experience. My background in the sports world inspired me to raise awareness among men about the importance of manicures and pedicures. Our health is reflected through our feet, with all those nerves running through them. Our mission is to contribute to men’s health and well-being through our services.
We are growing rapidly, and I am proud of what we have achieved so far. We continue to invest in training and education because quality is always our top priority. We aspire to perform at the highest level, similar to champions in the Champions League. Our barbers deliver exceptional performances every day.
Due to the intensity of our work, I am currently working on developing a high-quality online academy. This will allow us to scale more easily and inspire and educate even more people in the art of barbering and grooming. We are determined to raise the bar and constantly elevate the standards in our industry. Furthermore, we aim to quickly expand the MAESONS brand through franchises in multiple locations across the Netherlands and Europe, delivering the same MAESONS quality.”
